In 2022, together with my friends at the Turing Agency, I created Anic T. Wae: a fictional machine persona and the first non-human columnist in a German-language newspaper. The monthly taz column used GPT-3-era language models, with the prompts, model choices and editorial process documented openly.
The experiment asked practical questions about machine authorship, editorial responsibility, personality and whether generated nonsense can sometimes be more interesting than generated correctness.
